Peroz

Son of Yazdgard II. Reign 457/459 - 484 AD. Albania declares its independence and is retaken. Seven years of drought and famine help the communistic ideas of the reformer Mazdak take hold. Peroz leads force against the east and is captured; his army destroyed. The king's son, Kavad I, is left with the Hephthalites as a hostage. Ten years or so later Peroz again attacks the Hephthalites and is killed in battle.
